02 / HOW TO PLAY

Five steps into
the night shift.

There is no combat, no inventory and no puzzle box to solve. The game is driven by reading, by observation, and by the dialogue decisions you make.

  1. Load the build in the frame

Press Load Game above. The player loads the current browser build — game version 2.0, which includes Act 2 / Day 2. Nothing is installed and no account is needed.

  2. Work the night shift

You are hired to guard an abandoned puppet theater: keep intruders out, clean the building, and make sure the puppets stay where they belong. The job only looks boring for the first scene.

  3. Read, then choose

Click or tap to advance the dialogue. When a prompt appears, answer it — the early answers quietly add affection points, and those points decide which ending you can reach later.

  4. Watch the doors

Every puppet has a room, and every room has a name on the door: the Jester, the Knight, the Wizard and the King. Some routes only open if you read the names carefully enough to use them.

  5. Reach an ending, then replay

The documented endings are the regular good ending, the collar scene with its higher threshold, the bad ending, and a secret ending tied to a name clue. Different choices lead to different endings, so a second run is worth it.

Playing on a phone? The game stays inside the frame, so you never leave this page. Turn the device to landscape for a wider view, tap to advance, and use the Fullscreen button if you want the whole screen.

A quiet job in
a loud theater.

Kingdom of Marionettes begins with a deceptively ordinary job. You are hired to guard an abandoned puppet theater, keep intruders away, clean the building, and ensure the puppets remain where they belong. The creator's introduction reveals the problem quickly: the puppets can move.

Jestyn, the living jester, takes an unusual interest in the new guard. Around him sits a cast of puppets who each own a door, a room and a private rhythm — the Jester, the Knight, the Wizard and the King. What starts as a routine security shift turns into a series of conversations you do not fully control.

The build in the player above is the current Act 2 / Day 2 release. Act 2 pulls the investigation out of the theater and into the wider town, so the mood changes as soon as you leave the stage. This page stays light on spoilers: the numbers behind each ending are worth discovering yourself.
